01
The brief
A company selling workforce analytics software is evaluating entry into the Nordic market. The team has a broad segment hypothesis and no qualified account universe. The assignment is to determine which companies merit attention over the next two quarters, why they qualify and who inside them should be approached first.
Second Order defines the company criteria, evidence requirements, readiness signals, account tiers, stakeholder roles and delivery requirements before research begins.
02
The market universe
The addressable set is assembled from multiple sources and researched against the agreed criteria. Approximately 320 companies become a ranked universe of 74 accounts with a clear reason for inclusion, priority and timing.
For the highest-priority tiers, relevant business units and buying groups are mapped, with verified emails and phone numbers added where required.
03
The account
One top-tier company has opened three people-analytics roles during the quarter, appointed a new head of HR technology and published executive commentary about a fragmented reporting environment.
The account intelligence connects those developments with the client's proposition, identifies the relevant people, assesses the strength of the evidence and explains why the account deserves attention now.
04
The recommendation
The evidence supports approaching the account now through the new head of HR technology, using the reporting problem already acknowledged by the leadership team. A second account is deferred because its apparent signals do not hold up under deeper research.
Each recommendation includes the evidence, reasoning, timing, priority and the person or team responsible for the next action.
05
The delivery
The account owner receives the account brief, buying-group map, verified emails and phone numbers, outreach material, call context and meeting preparation inside the CRM record.
The complete market universe is delivered in the agreed system and file format, with the monitoring criteria established for future changes across the priority accounts.
